Ricky Flynn, Lynchburg
College
Flynn, a sophomore from
Gaithersburg, Md., won the individual men's title at the 35-school New
York University Invitational on Saturday in Van Courtland Park.
Flynn bested almost 300 other runners en route to the winning the title,
finishing the five-mile course in 26:31.0.

Cross Country
Jackie Burns,
Washington & Lee University
Burns, a sophomore from
Burke, Va., helped the W&L women's team to a fifth place showing out of
28 teams at the New York University Invitational on Saturday. The
2005 ODAC Rookie and Runner of the Year finished third out of 262 total
participants, clipping the tape in a time of 19:33.0

Jessi Bowman,
Lynchburg College
Bowman, a junior from
Midlothian, Va., scored in overtime Sunday as the Hornets defeated St.
Mary's College 1-0 in a well-played match. She also added a tally
in LC's 6-2 win at Eastern Mennonite on Friday.
Golf
Nathaniel James, Washington & Lee University
James, a junior from Keller, Texas, shot a one-under-par 141 to
claim the individual title and lead the Generals to a first place finish
at the Ted Keller Invitational hosted by Randolph-Macon College.
His 70-71 two-round total was one stroke lower than Hampden-Sydney
College's Nick Combs.

Jack Palmer,
Washington & Lee University
Palmer, a junior
Williamsburg, Va., amassed 10 points thanks to five goals over a pair of
games to help the Generals improve to 4-0 for the first time since the
2000 campaign. In the win over Bluefield, he notched three of
W&L's school-record 11 goals, and followed that up with a pair of scores
against Marymount.

Soccer
Jennah Carter,
Guilford College
Carter, a senior from
Orland, Fla., continued to impress for the second straight week with four
goals and an assist in both of Guilford's ODAC victories. She
scored twice in the league-opening triumph over Hollins University, and
repeated the effort in an upset victory of nationally-ranked Virginia
Wesleyan College. She notched her second goal against the Marlins
with 1:29 gone into overtime to clinch the win. She has scored at
least one goal in each of the past five contests including three
two-goal outings.
Volleyball
Maggie McDearmon,
Randolph-Macon College
MdDearmon, a senior from
Amherst, Va., helped lead RMC to three wins over the last week including
3-0 victories on the road against ODAC foes Virginia Wesleyan and
Guilford. For the week, the outside hitter/middle blocker
registered 34 kills, 29 digs, 10 blocks and four aces. She racked
up 15 kills on a .353 hitting percentage with 10 digs and three blocks
against VWC, and put up 11 kills, just as many digs, and five blocks at
Guilford. She finished off her week with eight kills, three aces
and two blocks against Chowan.
