MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK

JEREMY FALKE, LYNCHBURG COLLEGE

Falke, a sophomore from Ashland, Va., paced Lynchburg on Friday at the Stetson (FL) University Invitational with a second-place finish out of 85 runners.  His time of 27:20.0 helped the Hornets finish fourth in the 16-team field.

 

Men's Cross Country Honor Roll
Brandon Spalding, Bridgewater Finished ninth at the Gettysburg Invitational in a time of 26:28.9
Vance Berry, Washington & Lee

Crossed the line 14th at the Gettysburg Invitational in a time of 26:41.65

 


    

WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK

JACKIE BURNS, WASHINGTON & LEE UNIVERSITY

Burns, a sophomore from Burke, Va., picks up her third ODAC Runner of the Week award after helping the Generals to a fourth place finish out of 19 teams at the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday.  She placed third of 192 runners with a six-kilometer time of 23:06.57.

 

Women's Cross Country Honor Roll
Brittany Wells, Bridgewater Helped the Eagles to a 16th overall placing at the Gettysburg Invitational with a time of 25:30.25
Ashley Armistead, Lynchburg Crossed the finish line in 25:20.0 to help the Hornets to a 13th placing at the Gettysburg Invitational

 


 

FIELD HOCKEY PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MORGAN HUTCHINSON, RANDOLPH-MACON COLLEGE

Hutchinson, a sophomore from Manakin-Sabot, Va., led the Yellow Jackets to a 3-0 week including two ODAC wins.  Hutchinson started the week off by helping R-MC down the Capital Conference’s leading team, St. Mary’s, with a goal in a 3-2 result on penalty strokes.  Hutchinson followed that up with a goal in a 3-1 win at Roanoke on Saturday and then a five-goal one-assist performance against Randolph-Macon Woman’s College on Sunday.

Sarah Roth, Eastern Mennonite Scored twice and added an assist in the Royals 4-1 win over Virginia Wesleyan
Allie Weir, Lynchburg Split four goals and two assists evenly between two games in a 2-0 week for the Hornets
Megan Manubay, Sweet Briar Notched the Vixen's lone goal in a 3-1 loss to Sewanee... leads team in scoring (5 goals, 10 pts)
Steph Mansey, Washington & Lee Scored four times in a 3-0 week for the Generals... Has five goals and one assist on the season

 


 

GOLFER OF THE WEEK

NATHANIEL JAMES, WASHINGTON & LEE UNIVERSITY

James, a junior from Keller, Texas, earns his second ODAC Golfer of the Week award after leading the Generals to a third-place finish at the Transylvania Invitational on Friday and Saturday.  After shooting a 79 on the first day, he came back with a 71 in round two for a 150 total to claim the tournament title.  Through six founds this fall, James is averaging 72.3 strokes per round.  He has also won two of the three invitationals in which W&L has participated.

Colin Clark, Guilford Helped Guilford to a third place tie at the Tom O'Briant Memorial  with a 145 total (74-71)
Bob Boykin, Hampden-Sydney Shot a 147 (71-76) to pace the Tigers to a 10th place showing at the Tom O'Briant Memorial
Ryan Bishop, Randolph-Macon His 77-75 (152) led the Yellow Jackets' effort in the Tom O'Briant Memorial
Mark Ashby, Roanoke Two round total of 155 (77-78) paced the Maroons in the Tom O'Briant Memorial

 


 

MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK

DONALD PARROTT, RANDOLPH-MACON COLLEGE

Parrott, a freshman from Suffolk, Va., scored a goal in both of Randolph-Macon’s ODAC wins this week.  In a 4-3 victory over Guilford, Parrott scored just over 10 minutes into the game as the Yellow Jackets picked up the league win.  On Saturday, Parrott scored in the 83rd minute of play to break a 1-1 tie and send R-MC past Emory & Henry.  The goals were the first two of his collegiate career.

Mitch Hammersley, Bridgewater Made nine saves through two games including one stop in the Eagles 2-0 win over Maryville
Jackson Maust, Eastern Mennonite In net for two wins for EMU, both shutouts, making all nine of his saves against Guilford in the latter affair
Mike McCaffrey, Guilford Matched career-high with two goals in a loss to RMC, his first scores of the season
Brandon Flowers, Lynchburg Scored the lone goal in the Hornets' 1-0 win over Bridgewater
Rhett McCraw, Washington & Lee Scored via penalty kick in a 1-1 draw with VWC... Team saw 10-game win streak snapped vs. EMU

 


 

WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ANNE VAN DEVENDER, WASHINGTON & LEE UNIVERSITY

Van Devender, a sophomore from Jackson, Miss., racked up seven points this weekend, on a trio of goals and one assist, to lead the Generals to 2-0 on their weekend road-trip to North Carolina.  She has scored 17 goals this season, which is tied for fourth in W&L program history.  Her 10 assists are tied for third in W&L program history.

Mattie Horning, Eastern Mennonite Scored three times and assisted on three others in a 3-0 week for the Royals
Julianne Strauss, Emory & Henry Scored five times in a 1-2 week for E&H... Has a team-high 10 goals on the season
Micki Boulineau, Guilford Extended her goal-scoring streak to three games with a tally in both of GC's games this week
Annie Johnson, R-M Woman's Coll. Picked up a hat-trick in a loss to Emory & Henry... Now has 10 goals on the season
Whitney Shaffer, Sweet Briar Notched a hat-trick in a 4-0 victory over Hollins... Team leader in goals scored
Laura Jackson, Virginia Wesleyan Scored three goals including game-winner vs. St. Mary's in 3-0 week for the Marlins

 


 

VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

GRACE GERALDS, VIRGINIA WESLEYAN

Geralds, a junior from Garden Ridge, Texas, helped VWC to a 2-0 week on the road with 90 assists from her setter's position.  She notched 32 helpers in a 3-0 win over Randolph-Macon, and came back with a program-record 58 assists in a hard-fought 3-2 win over Catholic University.  She has recorded 32 or more assists in her last five matches and has dished out 554 total for the season, the second highest total in Marlin history.  She is only the second woman in VWC history to record 50 or more assists in a single match.

 

Volleyball Honor Roll
Marsha Hermes, Bridgewater Knocked out 47 kills in 5-0 week for BC, hitting at a .321 clip while also adding 12 total blocks
Katie Spina, Guilford Hit a career-high .545 vs. BC... Notched 15 kills at a .310 hitting percentage for the week
Katie Warlick, Lynchburg Hammered out 16 kills and hit .355 in a 3-0 win over Eastern Mennonite
Kelly Chapman, R-M Woman's Coll. Collected 42 kills, including 22 against Methodist, in four matches... Also had 13 blocks and 25 digs
Lindsay Sankoff, Sweet Briar

Hit 24 kills and collected 32 digs in four matches... Had 12 digs in three games against Methodist

Lauren Edmonson, Washington & Lee Libero collected 99 digs in 17 games (5 matches) including a program second-best 31 vs. Lakeland
