BASEBALL PLAYER
OF THE WEEK
Ronnie LaBrie,
Lynchburg College
LaBrie, a senior from Vinton, Virginia, helped lead his team to
a 3-1 week while notching a hit in each of the four games including 4
hits in Lynchburg's win over Emory & Henry. LaBrie averaged .530
at the plate throughout the week and managed to steal four bases, score
seven runs and drive in seven runs.
BASEBALL PITCHER
OF THE WEEK
Rich Glover,
Lynchburg College
Glover, a junior from Bedford, Virginia, worked two scoreless
innings against Greensboro on March 6th and allowed only four hits in
six innings of play against Emory & Henry on March 9th while striking
out four batters. Glover is leading the Hornets with a 1.23 ERA
and only allowing batters to hit .208 against him.

Earned his first college win over Lake Erie on March 4th while
yielding three unearned runs and four hits with two strikeouts

3-0 week for the Yellow Jackets, including one home run and
onedouble. Scored the game willing run in extra innings in
a 5-4 win over Hampden-Sydney. |

Did not allow a run in his three appearances this week while
striking out three batters. |

Hit .455 and a .818 SLG% with a double, a home run and three
RBIs in 2-1 week for the Maroons. |

Notched back-to-back home runs in an 11-1 win over W&L.
Batted .421 in a five game week while recording eight RBIs. |
MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Nathaniel
James, Washington and Lee University
James, a senior from
Keller, Texas, finished in a tie for 11th out of 83 golfers at the
Callaway Collegiate Invitational held on Mar. 3-4 at the Callaway
Gardens Golf Club in Pine Mountain, Ga. James carded an eight-over par
score of 76-76-152 in helping the Generals tie for seventh out of 16
teams at the event. For the season, James is averaging 72.4 strokes
over 10 rounds.
MEN'S LACROSSE
ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Pat March, Roanoke College
March, a sophomore from Burnie, Maryland, scored seven goals to
go with five assists in a pair of high-profile wins for Roanoke.
He scored four times and dished out three helpers including the keying
pass on the game-winner in a 13-12 come-from-behind win over R.I.T.
He helped key a 14-6 win over St. Mary's with three goals and two
assists. He also picked up six ground balls between the two games.
For the season, March has scored nine goals to go with six assists for a
team-best 15 points.

goals in two wins for VWC with seven ground balls; notched two
in the 4th quarter in an 11-9 win over Greensboro and tallied
the game-winner in an 11-10 win over McDaniel. |
WOMEN'S LACROSSE
ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Deanna Welsch, Lynchburg College
Welsch, a senior from Yorktown Heights, New York, notched nine
goals, four assists and a pair of draw controls in two wins for the
Hornets last week. She scored five times (on eight shots) and
chipped in an assists in a win at Frostburg State. She backed that
up with a four-goal three-assist showing in an ODAC win over
Bridgewater, 19-13. Welsch ended up tallying the decisive goal in
each match.

goals to go with two assists in a 1-1 week for the Marlins;
notched a career-high five goals in a 15-5 win over Bridgewater. |
SOFTBALL PLAYER
OF THE WEEK
Mandy Nixon,
Virginia Wesleyan College
Nixon, a senior from Virginia Beach, helped lead the Marlins to
a 4-1 week and extended her hitting streak to eight consecutive games by
going 8-16 in her five game week. Nixon tallied 3 RBIs and
collected 6 stolen bases. She leads the Marlin hitters with a .519
batting average through eight games.
SOFTBALL PITCHER
OF THE WEEK
Gretchen Wolfe,
Roanoke College
Wolfe, a freshman from New Windsor, NY, helped lead the Maroons
to a 3-1 week by pitching three complete games in four starts with a .59
ERA. She struck out a team best 28 batters in 30.2 innings of
play.

MEN'S TENNIS ATHLETE
OF THE WEEK
Sam Varner, Randolph-Macon College
Varner, a junior from Charlottesville, Virginia,
helped R-MC to a 5-4 victory over ODAC
rival Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday. Varner won his No. 4 singles match
and was also victorious with Leigh Thompson Hanes in No. 1 doubles,
winning 8-3.
WOMEN'S TENNIS
ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Sarah Budrus, Hollins University
Budrus, a freshman from Huntington, West Virginia,
went 3-1 on the week. She won #3 singles 6-3, 6-1 vs. Sweet Briar and
won #1 doubles, 8-6.
Against
ODAC-preseason #2 Virginia Wesleyan, Sarah lost at #1 doubles, but with
the match tied 4-4 she won at #3 singles in a three set tie breaker. She
won the deciding match and lead Hollins to the road upset of VWC.

MEN'S INDOOR TRACK ATHLETE
OF THE WEEK
Justin Wray, Lynchburg College
Wray, a sophomore from Newburg, Maryland, took third place in
the mile at the Virginia Tech. Last Chance meet over the weekend.
His time of 4:17.37 finished third overall and ranks second all-time in
the Lynchburg men's track history books. The mark also set a new
ODAC seasonal top time for the event.
WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK ATHLETE
OF THE WEEK
Michelle Leaman, Eastern Mennonite University
Leaman, a sophomore from Broadway, Virginia, ran in the women's
200 at Virginia Tech, placing 20th with a time of 28.11 seconds.
She also competed in the 60-meter hurdles where she finished with a time
of 9.13 seconds. Her time in the hurdles is a school record as
well as an all-time ODAC record for the event. She is currently
rated 14th in the nation in the 60-meter hurdles.
