MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
RUNNER OF THE WEEK
IAN ROBINSON, ROANOKE COLLEGE
Robinson, a sophomore from Roanoke,
Virginia, paced the Maroons at the Don Cathcart Invitational hosted by
Salisbury University. Robinson was the top ODAC individual in the
meet, finishing 18th overall with an eight-kilometer time of 27:15.00.

Paced the Quakers at the Greensboro Invitational, placing 39th
overall with an 8k time of 30:03.7; his time was third fastest
among D-III runners. |

Led the Marlins to a 4th place team finish at Salisbury with a
19th place 8k time of 27:21.00; the mark was his best this
season by 17 seconds. |

JESSICA SHAW,
WASHINGTON AND LEE UNIVERSITY
Shaw, a senior from Dallas, Texas, earned
her second ODAC Runner of the Week award of the season by placing ninth
overall at the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of
Minnesota.
Shaw
finished ninth overall out of 485 runners with a six-kilometer time of
23:07.2. The meet included nine of the Top 35 teams in NCAA Division
III.

at the Greensboro Invitational by placing third overall with a
5k time of 19:35.00. |

Led VWC at
Salisbury with a 6k time of 24:17.00; the mark is the best of
her career and set a new school rookie record; it also was a
personal improvement of 3:37 in 6k events. |
FIELD HOCKEY PLAYER OF
THE WEEK
SALLIE ARMSTRONG, WASHINGTON AND LEE UNIVERSITY
Armstrong, a junior from Houston, Texas,
was responsible for 3-of-4 W&L goals last week as the Generals went 1-1 as a
team. She scored lone General goal to give W&L a 1-0 halftime lead in a 2-1
loss at Lynchburg Saturday. Armstrong put W&L up 1-0 less than three minutes into
Sunday’s 3-1 win over visiting St. Mary’s (Md.). She notched the second goal of
the game in second half, and attempted 10 of the Generals’ 24 shots on
Sunday.

MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK
BRANDON MASSIE,
VIRGINIA WESLEYAN COLLEGE
Massie, a junior from Chesapeake, Virginia scored
four goals to help VWC to a 2-0 week in ODAC competition with a 5-0 win
at Guilford and a 4-2 victory at Hampden-Sydney. He scored the second
and third goals against Guilford and the first goal and the go-ahead
goal at H-SC, the latter breaking a 2-2 tie in the second half. Massie
now leads VWC with six goals.

After being shutout in a 2-1 loss to Lynchburg, Cardoso-Diaz
regrouped with one goal and two assists in a 3-2 overtime win
over Randolph; he finished the week with two goals in a 4-0 shutout of Methodist. |

Followed up his 14 save showing last week with 17 saves during a
1-1 week for the Quakers; made a career-high 11 saves in the 4-3
win over Randolph-Macon. |

Headed in the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over Eastern
Mennonite; followed that up with the first two goals in a 4-0
win over Emory & Henry. |

Notched the game-tying goal with just over six minutes to play
in regulation of a 3-2 overtime loss to EMU; Bolton leads the
WildCats with 11 points. |

Led a three-goal R-MC charge in the final ten minutes of a 4-3
loss to Guilford; had a goal and passed out an assist during
that span. |

Scored a goal and dished out an assist in the Generals' 2-0 win
over D-I VMI. |
WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAYER
OF THE WEEK
ANNE VAN DEVENDER,
WASHINGTON AND LEE UNIVERSITY
Van Devender, a senior from Jackson, Mississippi, totaled
five goals and four assists over a three-game week. She registered two
goals and two assists in an 11-0 victory over Hollins on Tuesday, one
goal and two assists in a 4-3 overtime loss to No. 1 Messiah on Saturday
and two goals in an 11-0 triumph over Randolph on Sunday. She is
currently #1 in the league in points with 25, and tied for first in
goals scored with nine.

THE WEEK
KENDRA SMITH,
RANDOLPH-MACON COLLEGE
Smith, a senior from Midlothian, Virginia, led R-MC to a 4-0
week, including a 3-0 mark against league completion. The
middle/right-side player notched 39 kills in 13 games during the week and only
committed seven errors in 66 attempts. Smith posted 33 of her kills
against league foes, including 16 in a win over Emory and Henry and 11
in five-game win over Roanoke. Defensively, she posted 10 blocks on the week
as well.
