ODAC to
Videocast Six Conference Football Games
Each School to
be Featured via the Internet
September 25, 2007
SALEM, Va. ---
The Old Dominion Athletic Conference
(ODAC) and Penn Atlantic Inc. will be partnering to broadcast six
conference football games throughout the remainder of the 2007 ODAC
schedule. Much like last season’s two showings, the games’ audio
and video will be webcast over the Internet via streaming audio and
video. Each of the seven ODAC competing schools will be featured at
least once.
The first opportunity to catch a
game will be this weekend, Saturday, September 29, at Hampden-Sydney
College. The Tigers (3-1, 1-0 ODAC) play host to undefeated
Bridgewater College (4-0, 0-0 ODAC) in the Eagles’ opening league
tilt of the season. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at H-SC’s
new Lewis C. Everett Stadium.
All six videocasts will feature
conference schools in action. Following this weekend’s contest, the
next videocast will be on October 6 at Washington & Lee University
as the Generals welcome Catholic University to Lexington for a 1:30
p.m. kickoff. Bridgewater travels to Emory & Henry College on
October 20, marking the third broadcast of the season at 1:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 27, will feature a pair of ODAC contests.
Bridgewater and Washington & Lee will be going toe-to-toe at W&L
while Randolph-Macon College travels to Greensboro, N.C., to
square-off with Guilford College. Both games start at 1:00 p.m.
The season’s final broadcast will hit the web from Guilford as Emory
& Henry takes on the Quakers at 1:00 p.m. on November 10.
Once available, links to the games
can be accessed through several Internet locations. Each of the six
games can be reached from the ODAC website at
www.odaconline.com or by directly browsing to
www.pennatlantic.com and selecting the game from its list of
scheduled broadcasts. Depending on which schools are playing, links
to the contests will also be available at the respective
participants' websites. There will be a small charge of $3.50 to
view each contest.
In order to view the broadcast, you
will have to be using a cable or DSL high-speed Internet connection
(preferably above 600 kbps download speed). You can test your speed
(bandwidth) directly from the Penn Atlantic website. The feed will
not work with a dial-up set up. You will also need Windows Media
Player 9.0 or 10.0.
For AOL users, you will not be able
to access the Penn Atlantic website via the AOL browser (due to
firewall). If you use Internet Explorer (installed on every
Windows-based PC) instead, you will have no problems viewing the
game.
Macintosh users should view the
“FAQ” section of the Penn Atlantic website to learn about how you
can view the game. Scroll down near the bottom of that section to
the “Can I watch a game on my Macintosh?” question to learn how to
view the game.
