Mid Atlantic Regional - Game 8 - May 17, 2003
Boyertown, PA -- The Otterbein College Cardinals stayed alive in the 2003 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament with a 6-3 win over Lakeland College on Saturday evening in Boyertown, PA.
Wally Theado earned the win as he pitched 8.2 innings of excellent baseball scattering nine hits and allowing just one earned run to improve to 5-3. John Frank earned his second save of the tournament as he retired the last batter in the ninth inning.
Otterbein scored all six of its runs in the first inning, all unearned, on just three hits, two Lakeland errors, two walks, and a hit batter. Eric Heminger and Tyler Shaw each had three hits to lead the Cardinal bat attack.
Eric Spies took the loss as he lasted just 0.1 innings allowing two hits and walking two in the first inning.
