Christopher Newport Repeats as South Champion.

Hickory, NC -- The Captains repeated at NCAA South Region Champions Sunday afternoon with a 2-1 11 inning win over Thomas More to advance to their second straight Division III College World Series.
Eben Brower went 10 innings striking out 11 batters while walking just one. Jason Brown picked up the win by pitching a scoreless 11th inning.
In the 11th, Jeremy Elliott led off with a bunt single advanced to second when Ricky Medina moved him over on a sacrifice bunt. Thomas More then intentionally walked Matt Turner when Chris Phaup delivered a hit to the left-centerfield gap to score Elliott from second base.
Brower was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. CNU is now 31-7 and advances to Grand Chute, WI to participate in their second consecutive trip to the NCAA Division III World Series.
