Kristine Holda Named ODAC Swimmer-of-the-Week

SALEM, VA-- Kristine
Holda of Washington and Lee has been named ODAC Swimmer of the Week.
Holda helped lead W&L to a 132-130 win over ODAC-rival Randolph-Macon
on Friday night. The junior won both the 50-yard freestyle (25.98) and the
100-yard freestyle (57.30). She also swam the anchor leg in the 200-yard
medley relay which the Generals' won in a pool and school-record time of
1:53.53.
Washington and Lee improved to 2-2 on the season and 1-0 in the ODAC with
a 132-130 victory over Randolph-Macon on Friday night. The Generals
trailed 124-121 heading into the final event, the 200-yard freestyle
relay, but the foursome of freshmen Allison Rogers, Jess Cobb, sophomore
Abbie Sauter, and freshman Amy Roberson won the race in 1:43.18 to help
W&L win the meet. Cobb, Sauter, Roberson, and junior Kristine Holda
won the 200-yard medley relay in a pool and school-record time of 1:53.53.
Holda has the top W&L time in the 50-yard (25.98), 100-yard (56.35),
and 200-yard (2:03.94) freestyles. Cobb has the top W&L time in four
events - 50-yard (28.74), 100-yard (1:01.88), and 200-yard (2:15.51)
backstrokes and the 200-yard IM (2:20.20).
