Rematch Set for
Salem
After last season's
stellar match up in the national title game, the University of
Wisconsin-Whitewater and Mount Union College have played their way
into a rematch for the 2006 Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl title.
UW-Whitewater put up 38 first half points en route to a 44-7 triumph
over Wesley College, making it to straight national semi-final
victories over the Wolverines. Mount Union led only by two at
halftime against St. John Fisher College, but the Purple Raiders put

26-14. In last
year's Stagg Bowl, Mount Union defeated UW-Whitewater 35-28 in a
game that featured 877 yards of total offense. The Raiders led
14-7 at the half, and 14 unanswered points gave MUC at 28-7
advantage going into the fourth quarter. The Warhawks came
back with two scores of their own to move to within 28-21, but Mount
Union added its final touchdown with 2:50 left for a 35-21 lead.
UW-Whitewater tacked on a running touchdown with two seconds left to
