Randolph-Macon College Women's Basketball Coach Carroll LaHaye Earns 200th Old Dominion Athletic Conference Victory

ASHLAND,VA -- Randolph-Macon College head women’s basketball coach Carroll LaHaye earned her 200th Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) victory on Tuesday, November 30, 2004, in a 81-65 triumph at Lynchburg College.  Now in her 22nd year at the helm of the Yellow Jackets, her current overall career record heading into back-to-back ODAC games this weekend is 327-247 (.570), while her record in the conference is 200-87 (.697).  Randolph-Macon has been competing in the ODAC since the 1989-1990 season.

The 2004-2005 Yellow Jackets are off to a great start, at 3-0 overall and ranked #23 in NCAA Division III in the D3hoops.com website poll.  Leading Randolph-Macon is junior All-American guard Megan Silva, who averages 24.0 points, 6.0 assists, and 4.3 steals per game.  She has already been named the ODAC Player of the Week and to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week.  Junior center Michelle Orton checks in at 16.0 points and a team-leading 9.3 rebounds per contest.  Senior center Emily Crider is averaging 15.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, and a team-leading 3.7 blocked shots per game.  Sophomore guard Salem Shaffer, a transfer from Division II Carson-Newman College in Tennessee, checks in at 9.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 3.0 steals per contest.
