Three ODAC Teams Ranked Nationally
Randolph-Macon and Hampden-Sydney Ranked in Top 10; VWC Receives Votes

The Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon College are ranked #4 in the most
recent d3hoops.com NCAA Division III mens basketball poll. Hampden-Sydney falls from the
number-five spot to #8 after falling to Emory & Henry on the road. Virginia Wesleyan dropped out of
the top 25, but is still receiving votes.
The Yellow Jackets from
Randolph-Macon (16-1, 10-1 ODAC) are led by sophomore Justin Wansley (Richmond, Va./Henrico) with 14.8 points per game and senior Kurt Bergmann (Fallsington,
Pa./Pennsbury) with 13.2 per contest. Bergmann also averages a team-best 7.9 rebounds per outing. Junior guard Justin Moyer (Landisville Pa./Hempfield) is 56-for-59 from the charity stripe this season.
Hampden-Sydney (14-2, 7-2 ODAC) has five players averaging double figures with Jeff Monroe (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton) and Brandon
Randall (Williamsburg, Va./Bruton) leading the way with 17.2 and 12.8 points, respectively. Other Tigers
averaging ten or more are Brian Gunn (Danville, Va./George Washington) with 10.8 points, Jason Holman (Amelia, Va./Amelia County) with 10.6 points and
Mike Thompson (New Market, Md./Linganore) with 10.5. Thompson is also bringing down 9.1 boards per
contest, a league best, while Gunn is second in the ODAC with 73 assists.
The Marlins from
Virginia Wesleyan (13-4, 7-4 ODAC) received four votes in this weeks poll. David Doino (Clarks Summit,
Pa./Abington Heights) continues to pace the Marlins with a team-best 15.6 points per game. He also
remains the leader from behind the arc, shooting 46.3%; good enough for second in the conference. Others
averaging double figures are junior Peter Warren (Winchester, Va./Handley) with 12.7, freshman Brandon Adair (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) with
11.9 and sophomore Marques Fitch (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam) with 10.5 points per game.
