Two ODAC Teams Ranked Nationally

Hampden-Sydney and Randolph-Macon Both Recognized

 

 

Salem, Va. – The Tigers of Hampden-Sydney College are ranked #8 in the most recent d3hoops.com NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Poll.  The Yellow Jackets from Randolph-Macon College drop from #6 to #12 in the nation.

 

Hampden-Sydney (24-4, 14-4 ODAC) has four players averaging double figures with Jeff Monroe (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton) and Brandon Randall (Williamsburg, Va./Bruton) leading the way with 17.0 and 12.4 points, respectively.  Other Tigers averaging ten or more are Jason Holman (Amelia, Va./Amelia County) with 11.1 points and David Willson (Memphis, Tenn./MUS) with 10.8 points per game.  Senior center Mike Thompson (New Market, Md./Linganore) is pulling down a team-best 8.0 rebounds per game for the ODAC Champion Tigers.

           

The Yellow Jackets from Randolph-Macon (22-4, 16-2 ODAC) are led by sophomore Justin Wansley (Richmond, Va./Henrico) with 15.0 points per game and senior Kurt Bergmann (Fallsington, Pa./Pennsbury) with 13.0 points per contest.  Wansley also averages a team-best 7.9 rebounds per outing.  Senior guard Ryan Stein (Lawrenceville, N.J./Lawrence) is shooting a team-best 44.3% from three-point land, as he has connected on 35 of 79 shots.  His percentage is good enough for third in the conference.
