SALEM, VABridgewater’s Matt Brock has been named the 2004 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men’s Soccer Player-of-the-Year as the league announced its all-conference squads today.

Brock is coming off a season in which he scored 12 goals and dished out 10 assists.  Brock’s 34 points was second-best in the ODAC and helped lead the Eagles to an 8-6-2 overall record, a 4-3-2 mark in the league and an appearance in the ODAC Tournament semifinals.

Roanoke College keeper Austin Rose was named ODAC Rookie-of-the-Year after leading the Maroons to an ODAC best 7-2 league record.  Rose started 19 games, posting a 1.01 gaa and eight shut outs.

RC head coach Scott Allison and Lynchburg’s Chris Yeager were named ODAC Co-Coaches-of-the-Year by their peers.  Allison led the Maroons to their third league championship in four-years, while Yeager guided the Hornets to a 10-8-2 overall record, a 4-5 mark in the league, and an appearance in the ODAC Tournament finals.

The ODAC sports information directors voted Brett Ralls of Guilford the Men’s Soccer Scholar-Athlete-of-the-Year.  Ralls played in all 20 matches for the Quakers, scoring one goal and tallying four assists for six points.  Ralls was a four-year team captain and helped Guilford to #10 regional ranking and a seven-match unbeaten streak this season. The streak was GC’s longest since 1986.  Ralls is an eight-time dean’s list student, earning a 3.85 cumulative grad-point-average, while majoring in business management and accounting.
