Roanoke College Men’s Soccer Team Ranked #19 in Nation

Virginia Wesleyan, W&L Ranked Regionally

Salem, Va. – The Roanoke College men’s soccer team is ranked #19 in the most recent National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III Poll. In addition, the Maroons are ranked 3^rd in the South Region. Virginia Wesleyan and Washington and Lee are ranked sixth and ninth in the South Region, respectively.

The Maroons are currently 9-2-1 on the season. Virginia Wesleyan sits at 10-2 overall while Washington and Lee has just one loss on the season and boasts a 6-1-2 record.

Roanoke is currently led by sophomore Elliott Stallings (Blacksburg, Va./Blacksburg) who has tallied 24 points on nine goals and six assists in 12 games. Sophomore midfielder Paul Schwartz (Richmond, Va./Douglas Freeman) is second on the team in scoring with three goals and two assists for eight points. Harper Thorsen (Blacksburg, Va./Blacksburg) has played 918 minutes in goal, giving up just seven goals and making 24 saves for a .774 saves percentage.
