Roanoke College Men’s Soccer Team Ranked #19 in Nation

Virginia Wesleyan, W&L Ranked Regionally

 

Salem, Va. – The Roanoke College men’s soccer team is ranked #19 in the most recent National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III Poll.  In addition, the Maroons are ranked 3rd in the South Region.  Virginia Wesleyan and Washington and Lee are ranked sixth and ninth in the South Region, respectively.

 

The Maroons are currently 9-2-1 on the season.  Virginia Wesleyan sits at 10-2 overall while Washington and Lee has just one loss on the season and boasts a 6-1-2 record. 

 

Roanoke is currently led by sophomore Elliott Stallings (Blacksburg, Va./Blacksburg) who has tallied 24 points on nine goals and six assists in 12 games.  Sophomore midfielder Paul Schwartz (Richmond, Va./Douglas Freeman) is second on the team in scoring with three goals and two assists for eight points.  Harper Thorsen (Blacksburg, Va./Blacksburg) has played 918 minutes in goal, giving up just seven goals and making 24 saves for a .774 saves percentage.
