W&L Launches New Athletics Website

Generals Partner With Prestosports on generalssports.com

LEXINGTON, Va. --- Washington and Lee University, in partnership with Prestosports, is today officially launching a new athletic website. The site, named generalssports.com, will be the new home for W&L's 23 varsity athletic programs and will provide the Generals' teams with more extensive coverage than ever before.

Along with a fresh and innovative look, the new site will present several new features to increase the enjoyment of W&L fans as they follow their favorite teams and players. Including many of the latest developments in web design and technology, the site offers enhanced photography and scoreboards, along with incorporating video directly through the site.  Other features include prospective athlete forms, blogs and newsletter functions.

The new site continues to feature an athletics archive that dates back to the the original launch of athletics information on the internet during the 1995-96 school year -- and it will also host a wealth of information on the history of every sport at Washington and Lee.

The site will continue to grow and update as the Generals begin to take the field for the 2009-2010 school year.  W&L's year in sports begins with a football game against Franklin & Marshall on Sept. 5 at Wilson Field at 1:00 pm.
