Interview with Randolph-Macon's Bill Rogers

A pair of championships are in the books with four more set to be decided this coming weekend.  Brad and J.J. discuss each of the ODAC championship matchups set for this weekend in field hockey, men's soccer, women's soccer and volleyball.

They also had a chance to chat with Randolph-Macon volleyball head coach, Bill Rogers, to learn more about the Yellow Jackets' program.  Coach Rogers dives into the path his squad took to becoming the ODAC's top seed, and gives us all some insight into the tournament as a whole.  His Yellow Jackets square off against Guilford College in one of two quarterfinals set to begin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6.  The second set of quarterfinals begins at 6:30 p.m., following the announcement of the volleyball all-conference teams.  Saturday features both semifinal contests at 11:00 a.m., followed by the championship match at 3:30 p.m.  All matches take place in the gymnasium at Hollins University.

The 2009 ODAC Field Hockey Championship features Eastern Mennonite University and Lynchburg College.  The Royals defeated Washington and Lee University, 3-1, to score its place in the finals.  The Hornets came back to defeat Randolph-Macon, 3-1, for the right to host the title game.  Saturday's championship is set for 2:00 p.m. at Shellenberger Field on Lynchburg's campus.

Roanoke College and Lynchburg will be meeting to decide the 2009 ODAC men's soccer champion.  The Maroons punched their ticket by advancing 4-2 on penalty kicks against Virginia Wesleyan.  The two squads were deadlocked, 1-1, through 110 minutes of play, forcing the spot kicks.  Lynchburg scored twice in the second half to defeat Hampden-Sydney, 2-1, and earn the hosting responsibilities for the finals.  Game time of the men's soccer championship is set for 7:00 p.m. under the lights at Shellenberger Field.

ODAC women's soccer pits the top two seeds in the original field.  Virginia Wesleyan ran the table as the No. 1 seed, earning its championship hosting opportunity with a 5-1 win over Roanoke.  Washington and Lee will travel to Virginia Beach after defeating Lynchburg, 2-1, in Lexington.  An 88th minute goal from Allie Espina paved the way for the Generals.  The women's soccer championship is set for 1:30 p.m at Foster Field on Virginia Wesleyan's campus.
