Epperson, currently Assistant Vice President for Institutional Advancement at H-SC, will assume his new duties on January 1, 2011 following the retirement of current Athletic Director Joe Bush.

Epperson was appointed to his current position of Assistant VP for Institutional Advancement in March of 2010, but he has been with the College since August of 1997. He spent the past six years as Assistant VP for Development and Alumni Relations.  His duties during that time included oversight of athletic fundraising initiatives.

He also helped increase attendance, involvement, and financial support from alumni groups across the nation.

He served as the president of the Hampden-Sydney College Southside Virginia Alumni Club from 1995-97.

Epperson spent 18 years working at the high school level initially as a teacher and coach at Gill School in Richmond, Virginia then at his alma mater Prince Edward Academy in Farmville, Virginia.  After a successful coaching career he became Athletic Director and later served as Headmaster of both Prince Edward Academy and Fuqua School.  He is a member of his high school's Athletic Hall of Fame.  Epperson played baseball at H-SC from 1975-79.
