LC Sits Atop Commissioner's Cup Rankings
Hornets top Men's, Women's Cup Totals
FOREST, Va. --- The 2010 fall Old Dominion
Athletic Conference championships have all come to a close and the
race for the Dan Wooldridge Overall Sports Champion Cup, sponsored
by Farm Bureau Insurance, is underway. Lynchburg
College is atop the current rankings for the overall cup, the
men’s cup and the women’s cup. Washington and Lee
University took over the second spot in the overall cup, the
women's ranks and the men's cup.
Farm Bureau Insurance is the proud sponsor for the Dan Wooldridge
Overall Champions Cup and the Men and Women's Commissioner's
Cups. Farm Bureau and the ODAC continue their partnership in
focusing on the strength of the conference's student-athletes and
maintaining the NCAA Division III philosophy of the complete
student-athlete experience. Aside from supporting the ODAC
Commissioners' Cups, Farm Bureau is the sponsor of the ODAC's
sport-by-sport scholar-athlete awards.
As determined by the ODAC Board of Directors, points for the
Commissioner's Cups are based on regular-season standings in team
sports and championship team finishes in individual sports.
Each institution has a total number of possible points it can
collect based on its individual sport sponsorship. The total
number of points earned is then divided by the total number of
possible points to determine the ranking for each institution.
Lynchburg, which has not won the overall sport trophy since
2001-02, currently has 57.0 points out of a possible 61.0
points for an overall rating of 0.93. The Hornets were crowned
conference champions in men's cross country, field hockey, men's
soccer and women’s soccer this fall.
Washington and Lee currently racked up 51.5 points out of a
possible 68 points for an overall rating of 0.76. The
Generals were tabbed ODAC champions in football and women's
cross country.
