ODAC Players of the Week

FOOTBALL
Tom Solak, Randolph-Macon, So., Def.
Lineman
Solak, a sophomore from Richmond, Va.,
helped the Randolph-Macon defense shore up its efforts in the
second half during the Yellow Jackets 27-24 come-from-behind
victory over Shenandoah on Saturday. Solak made four plays in the
Hornets backfield as he racked up eight total tackles on the day,
tied for the team-high with Danny Hunt. He cost SU 20 yards of
offense on 3.0 tackles for a loss. Included in that total was an
ODAC weekly-high 2.5 sacks for a loss of 19 yards. Solak also
contributed to the Jackets' rushing and pass defense as the
sophomore lineman helped R-MC hold Shenandoah to 64 yards on 37
carries in addition to breaking up a pass.

FOOTBALL
Nash Nance, Hampden-Sydney, So.,
Quarterback
Nance, a sophomore from Calhoun, Ga.,
picks up his second weekly award of the season as he led
Hampden-Sydney to an ODAC season-best 68 points in the Tigers 68-24
win over Guilford on Saturday. Nance completed 22-of-35 pass
attempts for 309 yards and five touchdowns without an interception.
He also threw for a pair of successful two-point conversions. Nance
threw three touchdown passes in the first quarter as the Tigers
jumped out to a 25-0 lead after the first 15 minutes of action.
Nance's favorite target was again Holton Walker, as the sophomore
collected 10 passes for 170 yards and two of the first quarter
touchdowns. Nance leads the ODAC with 22 touchdown passes and 2,097
yards through the air.

FIELD HOCKEY
Taylor Prillaman, Bridgewater, Fr.,
Attack
Prillaman, a freshman from Magnolia,
Del., led the Eagles to a pair of wins over the past week,
including a quarterfinal victory over Roanoke. In the regular
season finale, Prillaman scored both goals in a 2-0 win over
Washington and Lee. The win locked up the third seed for BC in the
ODAC tournament. She followed that performance with one of
Bridgewater's goals in a 8-1 win over Roanoke to help propel the
Eagles to the semifinals. On the year, Prillaman is ranked second
in the league in goals scored with 14 and has tallied the most
single-season goals for the Eagles program since Holly Ware's
16-goal effort in 1999. Prillaman also ranks in a tie for third in
the league with 29 points.

GOLF
Drew Thompson, Guilford,
Sophomore
Thompson helped Guilford place second
at the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial with a 72-72-144 (+4) that placed
fourth in the 90-man field. He carded the Quakers' low score in
both rounds and had the low score among the 36 ODAC contestants in
the field. Thompson lowered his season stroke average to a
team-best 73.90, which ranks second in the ODAC.

MEN'S SOCCER
Jacob Lusczek, Randolph, Jr.,
Forward
Lusczek, a junior from Fredericksburg,
Va., helped the WildCats to a pair of wins in a 2-1 week. Against
Randolph-Macon, he assisted on Randolph's first goal and then broke
a 1-1 tie in the 59th minute with the would-be game-winner to help
the WildCats lock up the fifth seed in the ODAC tournament. In the
quarterfinals against Guilford, Lusczek scored Randolph's first
goal in the 12th minute as the WildCats went on to win 3-0 and
advance to the ODAC semifinals against top-seeded Roanoke.

WOMEN'S SOCCER
Harmon Hall, Shenandoah, Fr.,
Midfielder
Hall, a freshman from Salem, Va.,
helped send the Hornets to the semifinals of the ODAC tournament as
part of a 2-0 week for Shenandoah. Hall opened her week with a goal
in the Hornets' 7-0 win over Hollins in their season finale.
Against second-seeded Washington and Lee in the ODAC quarterfinals,
Hall assisted Kari Delamarre-Brand on the game's first. Hall later
came back to provide the winner for the seventh-seeded Hornets as
she tallied in the 103rd minute in double-overtime to set up an
all-Hornets semifinal with Lynchburg College.

SWIMMING
Lauren Frizzell, Emory & Henry,
Freshman
Frizzell, a freshman from Blacksburg,
Va., led Emory & Henry to a 115-56 win over Ferrum College
Friday evening at the E&H Aquatics Center. E&H, in its
first year with a full varsity program, won 11 races and set school
records with each victory. Frizzell was responsible for three of
the wins as she touched the wall first in the 200-meter (2:15.73),
400-meter (4:42.35) and 800-meter (10:07.22) events.

VOLLEYBALL
Mallory Carter, Randolph-Macon, Sr.,
Outside Hitter
Carter, a senior from Moseley, Va.,
picks up her second weekly award of the season after leading
Randolph-Macon to a 4-0 week that included a pair of ODAC wins to
wrap up the first undefeated conference campaign in the program's
history. Carter cashed in 59 kills for the week as she averaged
4.92 per game (12 games played). She posted double figure kills in
each match, with 14 apiece in 3-0 wins over Virginia Wesleyan and
Mary Baldwin. She notched 15 winners and two blocks in a 3-0 win
over Randolph, and capped her week with 16 kills and 14 digs in a
3-0 win over Maryville (Tenn.). Carter hit .408 for the week and
collected 30 digs. She is currently fourth in the conference with
328 kills and 3.64 per set average and is third with 49 kills.
