Washington and Lee to Host Final Two Rounds

SALEM, Va. ---
The top three seeds in the Old Dominion Athletic
Conference (ODAC) men’s tennis tournament advanced to
the semifinal round with victories on Wednesday
evening. Fifth-seeded Guilford College provided the
only upset of the day, knocking off #4 Bridgewater
College, 5-2, at Bridgewater.
With its victory, top-seeded Washington and Lee
University earned the right to host the semifinals and
championship of the tournament. Both semifinal contests
will be played on Saturday, April 19, at 11:00 a.m. and
3:00 p.m. The championship match is slated for 2:00
p.m. on Sunday, April 20.
Washington and Lee (15-4) squares off with Guilford
(10-8) in the first semifinal. The Generals defeated
Lynchburg College (4-13), 9-0, on Wednesday. Saturday’s
second pairing features Hampden-Sydney (13-2) and
Roanoke (13-7). The Tigers made their way past Virginia
Wesleyan College (3-12) with a 9-0 triumph in the
quarters. Emory & Henry College (4-14) fell victim to
the Maroons, 5-1, in the remaining opening round event.
