ODAC Men’s Tennis Pairings Set
WLU Holds Top Billing, Shoots for 28th Title

April 15, 2008

SALEM, Va. --- Washington and Lee University will be looking for its 28th Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men’s tennis crown this week as the Generals enter the 2008 postseason tournament as the top seed following an unblemished league regular season record.  Hampden-Sydney College holds the second rank while Roanoke College and Bridgewater College fill out the top four seeds, respectively.

Tournament play begins this Wednesday with the top four seeds hosting quarterfinal matches to narrow down the eight-team field for Saturday’s semifinals and ultimately Sunday’s conference championship.  The latter two rounds will be hosted by the highest remaining seed following quarterfinal action.

Washington and Lee (14-4 overall, 9-0 ODAC) enters the tourney having dropped only six matches amongst its nine ODAC fixtures, three apiece between singles and doubles action.  Tim Ross leads the way with a 5-1 showing at #1 singles (10-5 overall).  His only setback came against Hampden-Sydney’s (12-2, 8-1) top gun in reigning ODAC Player of the Year, William Moss.  The sophomore standout went a perfect 8-0 in conference top singles play, posting a 10-2 overall mark including a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Ross in March.

Listed below is the entire schedule for the 2008 ODAC Men’s Tennis Tournament.  For more information including match times, visit any of the participating schools’ websites or the ODAC on the Internet at www.odaconline.com.
