ODAC Appoints Presidents’ Council Leadership Positions

HSC’s Dr. Walter Bortz will lead the group in 2004-05/2005-06

SALEM, VA. – The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) is pleased to announce the following appointments to the conference’s leadership structure.

Hampden-Sydney College President Dr. Walter Bortz will serve as chair of the ODAC Presidents Council. Lynchburg College President Dr. Ken Garren will serve as the committee’s chair-elect. Both will serve two years in their newly appointed leadership roles.

Dr. Roger Martin, President of Randolph-Macon College, will serve a two-year term as past chairman after serving the last two academic years as the ODAC’s Presidential Chair.

Former conference chairman Dr. Phillip Stone (Bridgewater College) will rotate off the three-member executive body. Dr. Stone currently chairs the NCAA Division III Presidents Council – a position he will hold for the next two academic years.
