John Macon Smith, Guilford, Jr., Outfielder
Smith, a junior from Greensboro, N.C., started off his season with a bang in leading the Quakers to a 1-1 start. In his first at bat, Smith crashed a 3-0 run homer for an early GC lead. He knocked three hits and stole a base in the Quakers' 8-4 loss to Piedmont. On Sunday, Smith was back at it with two more hits and the game-winning run in the 10th inning of a 5-4 GC win over Piedmont. Smith was 5-of-9 on the weekend.

Jonathan Estrada, Eastern
Mennonite - (Jr., Catcher - Miami, Fla.)
Estrada started the year with a three-game hitting streak, as
well as a three-game RBI streak. In the season-opening 3-0 win at
N.C. Wesleyan, Estrada had a RBI single in the top of the first,
knocking in the Royals' first run of the year. He reached base
three times in the 4-3 win over NC Wesleyan, getting a pair of
singles and reaching on an error. Then on Sunday, he capped a
five-run rally in the second with a RBI single. For the week, he
batted 4-for-11 with a walk.
Brian Kluge, Roanoke
College - (So., Outfielder - Roanoke, Va.)
Kluge led the Maroons in their opening weekend, hitting
5-for-9, which included three runs, two RBIs, and two doubles. He
was the only player on the Maroon squad to get a multiple base hit
on the weekend. He also tallied seven total bases, four more than
any other player on the team.
