Saluting the Fall Scholar-Athletes
Eight student-athletes from Old Dominion Athletic Conference member schools to earn a 2009 ODAC/Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete Award during the fall athletic schedule. Farm Bureau Insurance is the proud presenter of each award for the ODAC's 22 sponsored sports.

EHC's Jennings Wins Dudley Award
Emory & Henry running back Caleb Jennings won the Dudley Award, as presented by the Richmond Times-Dispatch and the Touchdown Club of Richmond. Jennings, a junior, was named the ODAC Offensive Player of the Year after leading the league with 1,371 yards rushing and 14 touchdowns via the ground.

Jennings, Riggenbach Headline All-ODAC Teams
E&H's Caleb Jennings and H-SC's Will Riggenbach (above) were tabbed the league’s offensive and defensive players of the year. H-SC's Marty Favret was named the top coach while GC's Daniel Biggerstaff was selected as the rookie honoree. The ODAC/Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete Awardis shared by H-SC's Josh Miller and WLU's Greg Kurkis.

ODAC teams and individual are moving into the latter rounds of their respective NCAA tournaments this weekend. Football is the only exception as its tournament begins on Saturday with 16 first round contests around the nation. Brad and J.J. take the time to give some insight into each of the ODAC's athletes and squads still in contention.

ODAC Football Report: Week 11
The ODAC football season has come to an end, but gridiron action will continue for several more weeks. H-SC joins 31 other teams vying for the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl on December 19. The Tigers topped R-MC, 34-17, to earn its place in the NCAA tourney. E&H closed out its season with a 17-3 win over GC. BC ended 2009 with a 30-13 win over CUA.

Tigers Win ODAC Title, Head to NCAA's
The 115th edition of “The Game” was more like a mud bowl following days of rain, but that didn’t stop H-SC from finishing the regular season undefeated with a 34-27 win at R-MC. The victory secured the Tigers their sixth ODAC title and cemented a place for them in the NCAA D-III Tournament through the league’s automatic qualifier.

ODAC Football Report: Week 10
Just one week remains in the ODAC football season, and for the third straight year the conference champion won't be decided until the final regular season whistle blows. Hampden-Sydney and Randolph-Macon were both victorious on Saturday, setting up "The Game" as the ODAC title decider. Guilford and Emory & Henry also posted victories on Saturday.

ODAC Football Report: Week 9
Guilford and Emory & Henry both recorded their first conference victories. Bridgewater needed a little extra time against Washington and Lee to remain in the hunt at the top of the ODAC. BC's Tyler Beiler (above) hauled in five passes for 108 yards and three TDs. GC's Richie Paul recorded his second straight 18-tackle game.

ODAC Football Report: Week 7
High-octane offense and stifling defense dotted the ODAC football results in week seven. Bridgewater's Thomas Tate (above) led the Eagles to a win over Guilford with 157 yards rushing and three scores. Randolph-Macon shutout E&H, Catholic got its first win, and Hampden-Sydney remained undefeated.

ODAC Football Report: Week 6
In a battle of the unbeatens, Hampden-Sydney remained perfect on the season with a 23-12 win over Emory & Henry on Saturday. Washington and Lee trounced Catholic, 28-14, behind 137 yards from running back Jonathan Clemo (above), and Randolph-Macon outlasted Frostburg State, 23-19.

ODAC Football Report: Week 5
Randolph-Macon receiver Earl Peoples (above) had a day he won't soon forget on Saturday as the junior standout caught an ODAC record 20 passes for 295 yards and two touchdowns to help R-MC past Washington and Lee, 21-13, in Ashland.

ODAC Football Report: Week 4
Four teams moved into the ODAC portions of their schedules over the weekend with Hampden-Sydney (4-0) and Randolph-Macon (2-2) coming out victorious. Emory & Henry (4-0) and Bridgewater (3-1) recorded non-conference wins. H-SC earned both ODAC weekly awards, with defensive back Bill Doody (above) leading a strong Tigers' effort.

Emory & Henry and Hampden-Sydney are 3-0 through the first three weeks of the 2009 season as the schedule begins ODAC competition next week. Running back Kirk Rohle (above) helped H-SC past Sewanee (51-7) with 123 yards and three touchdowns rushing.

Four ODAC schools took home non-conference victories over the weekend as big plays on both sides of the ball highlighted their efforts. E&H's Evin O'Sullivan (above) recorded two defensive touchdowns --- one on a 30-yard interception return and the other via a two-yard fumble recovery.

ODAC Announces 2009 Football Media Day
The opening event of the 2009-10 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) athletic schedule has officially been set. The 2009 ODAC Football Media Day will be held on Friday, August 7, at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Virginia. The annual meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m.
