LC, RC Claim ODAC Indoor Track Titles
Lynchburg College and Roanoke College brought home the crowns on Friday evening in the 2010 ODAC Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships. The Hornets earned 193 total points for the men’s title, while the Maroons accumulated 139 total points for the women’s championship.

Spring sports join the weekly awards as schedules have become consistent following the rough weather that made its way through the region at the beginning of the month. At the same time, winter sports are winding down with the basketball tournaments and the indoor track championships this coming weekend.

The transition is underway from winter to spring sports as swimming ended its ODAC season with the ODAC/Atlantic States Chamionships over the weekend and spring sports fighting through the tough adverse weather. Indoor track continues to gear up for its championship in two weeks, as does basketball with the last week of the regular season set to begin.

For the second time this winter, the weather played a major role in the fate of the ODAC's indoor athletic offerings. Nevertheless, several ODAC athletes performed well despite the road-covering snowfalls and frigid temperatures, like LC's Jessica Gibbs (above).

ODAC Players of the Week: January 25
Action in ODAC winter sports continued over the past week, and several athletes enjoyed banner weeks. Bridgewater's Courtney Hartman (above) helped lead the Eagles at Susquehanna University with strong performances in four different events.

ODAC Players of the Week: January 18
The full winter slate of ODAC athletics was in action over the past week for the first time since early December. Track joined the fray with multiple meets for both the men and women. Swimming featured several ODAC squads in action. And men’s and women’s basketball enjoyed standings-separating matchups and a couple of Top-25 showdowns.

Indoor track joined swimming and basketball in action as the full ODAC winter season is now in full swing. Four teams, including the ODAC’s newest programs at Guilford College, took to the indoor facilities over the past week. John Michael Pavia (above) was one of the stars for Lynchburg at West Virginia University.

Hornets Head Men's Indoor Track Poll
Defending champion Lynchburg College received six first place votes and 47 total points as the Hornets top the 2009-10 ODAC Men’s Indoor Track Poll. Bridgewater College collected the remaining first place vote as part of 42 total tallies. Washington and Lee University rounds out the top three with 35 poll points.

LC Tops Women's Indoor Track Poll
Lynchburg College received three first place votes and 44 total points as the Hornets top the 2009-10 ODAC Women’s Indoor Track Poll. Roanoke College sits a close second after also garnering three top votes towards 42 overall tallies. Defending champion Washington and Lee University is third with 38 points and the remaining first place nod.
