2012-13 ODAC Men's Basketball "Virtual" Media Guide
What's in store for the new campaign?
ODAC basketball has become increasingly difficult to predict
over the last several years, with multiple teams entering the NCAA
Division III Tournament, and playing well, becoming the norm.
The talent gets one team deeper starting this season as
Shenandoah University makes it an even dozen for one of the top
conference's in the country. While not unfamiliar to the
league after moving north from the USA South, the Hornets join a
contingent that has seen eight teams qualify for the national stage
over the past three three years, and more of the same could be in
store in 2012-13.
National pundit D3hoops.com certainly sees good
times ahead for the conference as three squads dot its annual
Preseason Top-25 Poll. It all begins with reigning ODAC
champion Virginia Wesleyan College, which sits second in the land
just not points out of the top spot currently occupied by MIT.
Randolph-Macon College chimes in at #24, while long-time
conference rival Hampden-Sydney College holds down the 25th
ranking. All three squads welcome back plenty of talent as
11-of-15 combined starters are back, including five All-ODAC
honorees led by VWC's D.J. Woodmore, the 2011-12 ODAC Player of the
Year.
ODAC Men's Basketball Media Day marks the official kick-off to the
2012-13 season. Each of the league's 12 coaches meet with the
media in Salem on Thursday, November 1 for the annual function
hosted by the Salem Rotary Club. Videos (posted to this site)
will help you learn how each coach feels about his squad coming
into the campaign and what his take is on the never-dull ODAC as
teams prepare for a 16-game league schedule against some of the
best competition NCAA Division III has to offer.

The information inside will continue to evolve as the
preseason progresses, bringing you a more "virtual" experience than
a print or PDF media guide. Updates to come include full
rosters, individual program preview articles, and other team
specific information. This page will also evolve with the
addition of the annual ODAC Men's Basketball Preseason Poll (Nov.
1) and video clips from each of the coaches' appearances at the
2012-13 ODAC Media Day. Remember to use the links on the
right to gather even more information including season archives,
records, all-conference teams and the 2012-13 composite
schedule.
