The Bullets (14-3) took a 2-0 lead just 1:15 into the game, but the Generals (16-4) evened the score at 2-2 at the 11:00 mark of the first quarter on a pair of scores by senior attackman Seth Fishman (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Haverford). However, the Bullets scored the game's next five goals, including three by Reichert, for a 7-2 lead with 9:47 left in the second quarter on their way to holding a 9-4 advantage at the break.

Senior midfielders Harry St. John (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex) and Tim Skeen (Baltimore, Md./Towson) both scored a pair of goals during the run. However, Gettysburg's Joe Brody found the net with just four seconds left in the third period, and the Bullets outscored the Generals 5-1 the rest of the way for their 12th-straight win on the season and third-consecutive victory over W&L.
Fishman paced the Generals with three goals, while Skeen posted two goals and two assists. St. John scored two goals, and sophomore attackman Spence Daw (Phoenix, Md./Loyola-Blakefield) tallied one goal and assisted on two others.
