LC Men's Lacrosse Gets First Round Bye

Hornets to Play Adrian or Denison on Saturday

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Just hours after defeating Washington and Lee University, 10-4, in the ODAC title game, Lynchburg College men’s lacrosse learned its position in the NCAA Division III Tournament.  The Hornets, ranked third in the latest USILA (http://www.usila.org) poll, earned one of four byes into the second round.

Play in the tournament begins on Wednesday, May 9, with 24 of the 28 teams in the field in action.  The other teams earning free passes to round two are #1 Salisbury University, #2 Cortland State, and #5 Tufts University.

Lynchburg (17-1) lost just one time this season, that coming in its second contest to top-rated Salisbury.  The Hornets have since rattled off 16 straight wins on the way to their fourth ODAC men’s lacrosse title.  In the NCAA Tournament’s second round on Saturday, May 12, LC will host the winner of Adrian College (Mich.) (17-1) and Denison University (Ohio) (13-1).  That matchup is set for Wednesday at Denison at a time to be determined.
