In one of the closest surveys in recent history, Hampden-Sydney and Lynchburg each collected four first place votes in the 2010 ODAC Mens Soccer Preseason Poll. H-SC tops the list with 110 points. LC garnered 106 tallies, followed by Roanoke with 103 points to go along with a pair of first place votes. VWC picked up the remaining top nod on its way to 99 points.

The Virginia Sports Hall of Fame and Museum recentley announced its inductees for the Class of 2010. Former Lynchburg College standout soccer player and Randolph-Macon College veteran coach, Helmut Werner, is amongst the eight honorees. Werner was an All-American at LC and spent 43 years coaching in Ashland.

Eight student-athletes from Old Dominion Athletic Conference member schools to earn a 2009 ODAC/Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete Award during the fall athletic schedule. Farm Bureau Insurance is the proud presenter of each award for the ODAC's 22 sponsored sports.

Lynchburg College mens soccer standout, Stephen Legg, is one of eight student-athletes from Old Dominion Athletic Conference member schools to earn a 2009 ODAC/Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete Award during the fall athletic schedule. Legg was tabbed from a pool of nominees by a vote of each of the conferences sports information directors.

ODAC schools put seven teams in the NCAA Division III postseason tournaments set to begin this week. Lynchburg is joined by Virginia Wesleyan in men's soccer. The Hornets and Marlins accompany Washington and Lee in women's soccer. Lynchburg is the ODAC's lone qualifier in field hockey, and Randolph-Macon takes to the courts in volleyball.
