JESSICA BURCHAM, Guilford, Sophomore - Pitcher

Burcham, a sophomore from Lexington, N.C., went 3-0 with a pair of complete-game victories over Mary Baldwin and Eastern Mennonite… carried a perfect game into the seventh inning at Mary Baldwin before yielding a two-out single… finished with her first shutout of the season and a season-high 12 strikeouts, one off the school record… fanned eight and scattered six hits in a complete-game triumph over Eastern Mennonite… picked up the win in relief against the Royals with 1.1 innings of scoreless, no-hit work… upped her win total to a team-leading eight and her strikeout total to a club-high 72 in 62 innings.

Softball Pitcher Honor Roll

Nicole Wade, Eastern Mennonite, Senior
Wade highlighted Eastern Mennonite’s up-and-down week by throwing a five-inning no-hitter Thursday against Sweet Briar.  Wade sailed through five innings of work, allowing only three runners on walks in the no-hitter.  She went 1-1 during the week, striking out 14 batters in 14.2 innings.

Gretchen Wolfe, Roanoke, Junior
Wolfe struck out 13 batters in 8.1 innings over two appearances last weekend against Virginia Wesleyan and Randolph-Macon.  She earned a shutout win against Randolph-Macon, striking out seven batters in five innings in the 11-0 victory.  The Maroons clinched their 12th-straight 20-win season and are now, 20-3 overall, 4-2 in the ODAC.
