2011-12 ODAC Women's Basketball "Virtual" Media Guide

Ready for Tip-Off in 2011-12

ODAC women's basketball put forth plenty of excitement in 2010-11, and it all culiminated in an exciting conference championship.  Randolph-Macon and Roanoke needed extra time to decide the conference's automatic qualifier, and it was the Yellow Jackets that pushed their way through into the national field.  The sight of Jennifer O'Briant forcing overtime with a sideline heave from 30 feet as time-expired still rings true, as it did for R-MC as it gave the squad from Ashland the momentum it needed for overtime on its way to the program's seventh ODAC title.

Randolph-Macon looks poised to make another run at a conference crown in 2011-12, but plenty of teams took steps towards taking their place on the championship mantle.  All but three players from the 18 honorees on the All-ODAC teams return, affording the league plenty of star power.  Five first team choices are back, including Virginia Wesleyan forward Kristen Blalock, Washington and Lee playmaker Meg Ingram, Roanoke post Nicci Moats, Bridgewater scorer Jessica Mullen, and R-MC leader Maggie Roy.

With all that talent returning to conference teams, the question remains, who will make the best use of it?

The first opportunity to hear what the coaches think comes on Thursday, November 3, when all 11 mentors meet in Salem, Va., for their annual Women's Basketball Media Day.  Interviews with each coach will be posted here in the 2011-12 ODAC Women's Basketball Virtual Media Guide.
