Gulford's Garcia Headlines ODAC Women's Lacrosse Awards

Guilford attack E'leyna Garcia headlines the 2013 ODAC Women's Lacrosse All-Conference awards as she was tabbed the ODAC Player of the Year. Washington and Lee mentor Brooke O'Brien earned ODAC Coach of the Year honors, while Lynchburg midfielder Katherine Francis received ODAC Rookie of the Year accolades. Randolph-Macon midfielder Rachel Johnsen garned ODAC/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete laurels for the second straight year.

ODAC Represented by Four Schools in NCAA Lacrosse Tournaments

Four ODAC schools will continue their seasons into the NCAA postseason this week as first round competition begins in the 2013 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Lacrosse Tournaments. Washington and Lee will be the conference's lone participant on the women's side, while the Generals are joined by Roanoke and Lynchburg in the men's bracket. Opening games in both tourneys begin on Wednesday.

Generals Win 14th ODAC Women's Lacrosse Championship

Washington and Lee University led just 3-2 at the half, but the Generals out-scored Shenandoah University, 8-6, in the final frame to post an 11-8 victory and secure the program's 14th overall ODAC women's lacrosse title. The win also marks the fourth consecutive crown for W&L, and awards it the conference's automatic entry into the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship.
