Shannon Myers, Bridgewater, Freshman
Myers, a freshman from Roanoke, Va., helped propel the Bridgewater Eagles swim team to a tri-meet sweep of Guilford and Greensboro. Myers set a new school record in the 100-yard butterfly and took first in the 100-yard backstroke (1:05.95) and 200-yard medley relay (2:05.4). In the 100 butterfly event, Myers set a new standard with a 1:05.62 en route to victory. Myers swam the butterfly leg of the medley relay and her performance helped make up ground and propelled the Eagles to victory.
Swimming Honor Roll
Maggie Dwyer, Hollins, Sophomore
Dwyer helped Hollins to a split with VMI and Ferrum as she won
four events and helped HU to a win and a second place in two
relays. In the 1000-yard freestyle, she set a school record
in 11:27.35. She also won the 500-yard freestyle (5:54.26),
200-yard freestyle (2:07.11) and 100-yard butterfly (1:07.97).
She helped Hollins to a win in the 200-yard medley relay
(2:17.64) and a second place showing in the 800-yard freestyle
relay (9:46.47).
Lauren Kasoff, Washington and Lee, Sophomore
Kasoff helped lead the Washington and Lee women’s
swimming team to a 162-101 win over Randolph-Macon on Saturday by
winning a pair of individual events. Kasoff touched first in
the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:15.89 and also touched first in
the 200 IM with a time of 2:16.89. The win improved W&L
to 4-0 on the season.
