R-MC Hosts ODAC Individuals Tournament

ASHLAND, Va. --- Randolph-Macon College hosted the 2011 ODAC fall individual women’s tennis tournament on October 8-9 at the Randolph-Macon Tennis Complex.

For the second-straight year, Sweet Briar College’s Ariel Taylor claimed victory at the #1 singles spot.  Taylor, currently ranked #31 in the nation, topped Washington and Lee University’s Sonja Meighan, who is the ITA Southeast Regional champion, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2. 

The Vixens also had four players reach the singles finals in their respective flights and three doubles teams reached the finals in their respective flights. 

The Generals emerged victorious in five singles flights and three doubles flights, while Hollins University made it to six of the 10 finals and captured the #7 singles spot.  Bridgewater College had four singles players claim their respective flights.
