Bergey, a sophomore from Harrisonburg, Va., led the Bridgewater Eagles women’s tennis team to a 3-0 week on the courts by running up a perfect 6-0 combined week with three wins in singles and doubles action. Bergey opened the week with a 6-0, 6-0 win at number two against Lynchburg before rolling to a 6-1, 6-2 victory against Randolph. The sophomore rounded out the week with a 6-0, 6-0 victory on Saturday at Emory & Henry. With doubles teammate Katie Gordon at number one, Bergey picked up an 8-4 victory against the Hornets before rolling to back-to-back 8-1 wins on Friday and Saturday against Randolph and Emory & Henry, respectively. Bergey has now won five straight matches in singles play and three in a row in doubles.

Sutton went 3-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles last week… lost only six points in three matches last week. Earned singles wins against Randolph-Macon (6-1, 6-0), Sweet Briar (6-1, 6-2) and Emory & Henry (6-2, 6-0)...posted doubles wins over RMC (8-2) and SBC (8-3) before falling to E&H (3-8).
Laura Dodson, Roanoke, Junior, No. 1 Singles, No. 1 Doubles
Dodson helped Roanoke to a 2-1 week with two singles victories and a trio of wins in doubles action. She won at No. 1 singles against SBC (6-0, 6-2) and Lynchburg (6-2, 6-1), but fell to Hollins (5-7, 1-6). She was perfect at No. 1 doubles with 8-2, 8-3 and 8-0 wins against SBC, HU and LC, respectively.
