RICKY FLYNN, Lynchburg College, Senior


Flynn, a senior from Lynchburg, Virginia, was the top collegiate finisher as he placed third overall in the Gold Meet of the Blue Ridge Open which boasted a field of 16 NCAA Division I teams and two NCAA Division II Teams. Flynn ran a time of 24:53, outpacing Lance Harden of Davidson who ran a 25:07 as the second fastest collegiate runner. The field featured ACC teams Wake Forest and Clemson University as well as many Big South Conference and Southern Conference squads.

Men's Cross Country Honor Roll

Jordan White, Bridgewater College, Freshman
White finished seventh out of 316 runners Saturday at the Gettysburg Invitational. White ran the 8K course with a time of 26:51.25 in a tightly contested race. Just 38 seconds separated the No. 1 and No. 10 finishers in the event. White was the third Division III runner to cross the finish line.

Richy Bikko, Eastern Mennonite University, Junior
Bikko set a personal best with a time of 27:06.41 despite running in a cold rain with mud and water standing on the course.  Bikko finished 18th in the race, which featured over 300 runners.

Richard Rogers, Guilford College, Freshman
Rogers paced the Quakers at the Guilford College Quaker Invitational with a 21st-place finish... completed the eight-kilometer course in 29:18.14, the 19th-fastest time in school history.

Sean Whitson, Virginia Wesleyan College, Sophomore
Whitson placed first in the Guilford College Quaker Invitational.  His 8K victory marked him as the first VWC male runner to place first in a meet of any kind since 1978 when Gary Cummisk won the individual title in the Dixie Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship race for VWC.  Whitson paced the field of 68 runners with a winning time of 26:54.35.
