Lewis Brooks, Hampden-Sydney, Jr.

Brooks, a junior from Jefferson, Ga., opened the 2017 season in victorious fashion at the ODAC Preview Meet hosted by Virginia Wesleyan University at the future site of the 2017 ODAC championships. Brooks topped the field with an eight-kilometer time of 27:03.48. He won the event by 31.7-seconds over second place, registering the fifth-fastest time on record at Hampden-Sydney. His efforts helped the Tigers to second in the team standings.

Men's Cross Country Weekly Honor Roll

Kenny Sullivan, BC: Won the Eagles' Cross Country Challenge with a 5K time of 17:17.14. Helped BC to first of three teams.

Justice Allen, EMU: Chimed in 11th at the Hyder-McMahill Invitational in his first collegiate meet. Posted a 5K time of 17:39.7.

Tristan Lucy-Speidel, LC: Placed 40th against D-I and D-II competition at the Covered Bridge Invite, posting an 8K time of 27:32.93.

Howard Daniels, RC: Stopped the watches third at the Hyder-McMahill Invitational with a 5K time of 16:56.4, just 28 seconds off-pace.

Jordan Sulcer, VWU: Finished second at the ODAC Preview with an 8K time of 27:35.18. Helped VWU to first place in the team standings.

Patrick Hunter, W&L: Finshed 14th out of 70 runners (mostly D-I and D-II) at the Hokie Invitational. He posted a 6K time of 19:27.30.
