Bridgewater’s Taylor Signs with Green Bay Packers

Bridgewater College linebacker Jermaine Taylor (Miramar, Fla./Miramar) has signed a two-year free agent contract with the Green Bay Packers following a three-day tryout with the NFL team this past weekend.

Taylor will return to Green Bay on May 17 to prepare for a second Green Bay mini camp that runs from June 2-11.

Taylor led the Eagles to the national semifinals this past season when he was a consensus first-team All-American. He was a two-time AFCA First-Team All-American selection.  Taylor led the Bridgewater defense in 2003 with 58 solo and 60 assisted tackles.  He tallied four sacks for a loss of 31 yards and made one interception on the year.  In addition, Taylor accumulated 16.5 tackles for a loss for 71 yards.  Bridgewater led the ODAC in scoring defense, giving up just 13.5 points per outing and held opponents to just 76.2 yards rushing per game.
