ODAC Men's Soccer Tournament Field Set
Maroons Capture Top Seed for Second Straight Year

FOREST, Va. --- The top seed of the 2012 ODAC Men's
Soccer Tournament is a familiar face as Roanoke College enters the
eight-team field with the number-one billing for the second
straight year. The Maroons' 2-1 overtime triumph on Tuesday
evening gave them the necessary points to stay ahead of
Washington and Lee University, which holds down the second
seed.
Joining Roanoke and W&L as first round hosts are third-seeded
Lynchburg College and #4 Guilford College. The Quakers are
hosting a tournament quarterfinal for the first time since 2004
when GC was the third seed, its highest rating since joining the
ODAC in 1991.
Fifth-seeded Randolph College, the defending ODAC champions,
travel to Greensboro for a Saturday quarterfinal matchup. The
WildCats are joined on the road by Virginia Wesleyan College and
Bridgewater College, who tied for sixth in the regular season
standings. The Marlins earned the sixth seed via head-to-head
tiebreakers and will travel west to Lynchburg. The #7 Eagles
head 55 miles south to Washington and Lee.
The final seed also required tie-breakers to decide. Eastern
Mennonite University and Hampden-Sydney College tied for eighth in
the league standings after the final day. The Royals enter
the tournament as the #8 seed thanks to their head-to-head victory
over the Tigers during the regular season. EMU will travel to
Roanoke for its quarterfinal contest.
ODAC tournament action begins Saturday, October 27, with four
quarterfinal matchups to be played at the highest four seeds.
The winners will play Wednesday, October 31, at the two highest
remaining seeds. The ODAC Championship will take place on
Saturday, November 3, on the campus of the remaining highest seed.
Game times have yet to be announced.
