BC Advances To Championship Game

LYNCHBURG, Va. --- Sophomore Dillon Via hurled a complete-game, five-hit shutout Saturday night to lead the Eagles to a 2-0 victory over Randolph-Macon at the ODAC baseball tournament.

The complete game was Via's second this season but the first nine-inning complete game of his career. He struck out six and did not walk a batter.

With the victory, the Eagles advance to Sunday's championship game at 1:00 p.m. against Lynchburg. If the Eagles win, the two teams will play a second game Sunday afternoon.

The Eagles took the lead with a run in the sixth. With one out, Devond Snow beat out an infield single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. Bryan Sanderson then delivered a clutch two-out single to center, givng the Eagles a 1-0 lead.

Bridgewater added an insurace run in the eighth when Jonathan Mason led off with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. Snow then drove Mason home with a single to center for a 2-0 Eagles lead.

Snow continued his hot hitting, going 2-for-4 with a run scored and one run batted in.

With the victory, the Eagles are now 30-13 on the season.
