2013 ODAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament News

Roanoke College opened up a three-goal lead in the four quarter and held off a late run by Washington and Lee University to defeat the Generals, 10-9, and claim the 2013 ODAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament title. The win marks the 18th overall league crown for the Maroons and their third in the last four years.

Tim Rowe scored a goal with just over a minute to play to give fifth-seeded Randolph-Macon Men's Lacrosse a 13-12 victory over fourth-seeded Hampden-Sydney Tuesday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets will now take on top-seeded Roanoke College on Saturday, May 4th in Salem, Va. at 6:30pm.

Just as in the regular season meeting, third-seeded Washington and Lee used a six-goal run across the first and second quarters to secure a 13-8 win over sixth-seeded Virginia Wesleyan in the quarterfinals of the ODAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament on Tuesday evening at Wilson Field.

For the first time since 2008, the third-ranked Lynchburg men's lacrosse team won the ODAC Championship with a 10-4 victory over Washington and Lee on Sunday. It is the fourth ODAC title for the Hornets in program history. LC earns the ODAC's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament, which will be announced live at 10:00 p.m. on NCAA.com.

First-year goalkeeper Warren Berenis stopped a career-best 20 shots and senior attackman Scott Meehan totaled a career-high five goals and two assists as the sixth-seeded Washington and Lee men's lacrosse team knocked off second-seeded Roanoke, 13-8, in the semifinals of the ODAC Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Kerr Stadium.

Junior Max Voumard scored six goals Saturday evening to lead Lynchburg College to a 14-6 victory over Virginia Wesleyan College in a semifinal matchup in the 2012 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament. It is the 15th-straight win for the third-ranked team in the nation.

Roanoke defeated #18 Lynchburg, 12-10 to win the 2011 ODAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship on Sunday afternoon. The Maroons, ranked #8 in the USILA Top-20 Coaches Poll, improved to 14-3 on the season, while the Hornets slipped to 13-6. Roanoke earns the ODAC's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament. Selections at 10:00 p.m. on www.ncaa.com.

Roanoke scored seven of the final eight goals of the contest to down Hampden-Sydney, 13-11, in the ODAC Semifinals on Sunday afternoon. The Maroons, ranked eighth in the USILA Top-20 Poll, advance to their seventh conference championship game in the last eight years. Roanoke is 10-5 in the ODAC Tournament since it began in 2002.

Roanoke College staved off a tough matchup with Lynchburg College to claim the 2010 ODAC Men's Lacrosse Title, 12-8, in Salem on Sunday afternoon. RC found itself down after the first quarter, but the Maroons rebounded with seven goals in the second period to spur themselves towards victory.

For the second straight season, Roanoke College commands the top seed in the ODAC Men’s Lacrosse Tournament, and earns one of two byes into the semifinal round. The Maroons, ranked sixth by the USILA, posted a 14-2 overall record and 7-0 conference mark. Lynchburg College (12-4, 6-1), rated 10th in the country, also earns a first round bye as the second seed.
