Field Set For Women's Tennis Tourney
Generals Geared Towards 22nd ODAC Crown
FOREST, Va. --- Washington and Lee University
is in search of its 22nd ODAC women’s tennis crown as the
Generals (15-5 overall, 10-0 ODAC) enter play in the 2012 ODAC
Women’s Tennis Tournament as the top seed. Winner of
the past nine conference championships, W&L is followed closely
into the postseason by second seeded Bridgewater College (9-1,
11-4).
Hollins University (12-4, 8-2) earned the three seed, while
Roanoke College (12-6, 7-3) occupies the fourth position. Guilford
College (9-8, 6-4) is fifth, while Randolph College (7-8, 4-6) is
sixth. Seventh-seeded Randolph-Macon College (6-11, 3-7)
holds the head-to-head edge over eighth-seeded Lynchburg College
(5-10, 3-7).
Tournament play begins Saturday, April 21, with each of the four
quarterfinals scheduled at the campuses of the four highest
seeds. Each of the four winners will play in the semifinals
on Saturday, April 28, with the championship following on Sunday,
April 29. Randolph-Macon will serve as host for the final
three matches.
