Zach Whitaker, Hampden-Sydney, Freshman, Pitcher
Whitaker, a frehsman from Roanoke, Va., picked up two complete game ODAC victories as the Tigers earned a spot in the ODAC Tournament. Whitaker shut down the Virginia Wesleyan bats on Wednesday in going the distance, and then came back on Saturday to pitch nine more innings to pick up a 4-1 win over Bridgewater. Against the Marlins, Whitaker allowed one run on five hits while striking out six. He again held his opponent to one run on Saturday, giving up a solo homerun in the second, before pitching seven straight shutout innings. Bridgewater recorded eight hits against him, but he struck out five while walking just two. Whitaker now stands at 7-3 on the season in 16 appearances and eight starts. He also has two saves, 50 strikeouts and just a 2.60 ERA.

Collin Metz, Emory & Henry, Senior, Catcher
Metz, a senior from Cape Coral, Fla., led the Wasps to a 3-0 week and helped E&H secure the third seed in the ODAC Tournament, its first postseason appearance since 1999. Metz 9-for-13 at the plate with two home runs and three RBI. He tallied multi-hit games in all three contests, reaching base a total of 10 times in 15 plate appearances. He was 4-for-4 in a win over Virginia Intermont, and then went a combined 5-for-9 with four runs scored and two homers in a sweep of Guilford. Metz has caught every pitch thrown by Emory & Henry this season. He leads the team in batting average (.375) and is tied for second in runs scored (29) and home runs (four). He is third in doubles (15) and RBI (26) on the year.

Luke Heinsohn, Washington and Lee, Junior, Midfielder
Heinsohn, a junior from Charlottesville, Va., helped lead the W&L men’s lacrosse team to a 2-0 week by totaling five goals and two assists across the two games. In a 14-4 win over Greensboro on Wednesday, he notched one goal and one assist. In a 14-13 overtime win over Randolph-Macon on Saturday, Heinsohn totaled four goals and one assist, and scored the game-winner in overtime. For the year, Heinsohn is fourth on the team in scoring with 22 points on nine goals and 13 assists.

Kelly Beard, Randolph-Macon, Junior, Pitcher
Beard, a junior from Williamsport, Md., led the Jackets to an 8-1 win over Southern Virginia Thursday afternoon. The junior tossed a complete game, allowing just one earned run while striking out five to improve to 7-3 on the season. She scattered 11 hits in the effort, but did not surrender a free pass.

Felice Lowery, Roanoke, Senior, Outfielder/Catcher
Lowery, a senior from Madison Heights, Va., picks up her second straight weekly honor as she was near perfect in the four games played this week. She hit 11-for13 for an .846 average with at least two hits in each contest. She was 4-for-6 with a homer, two runs batted in and a run scored in a double-header sweep of Emory & Henry to open the week. She followed that with a 7-for-7 twinbill against Lynchburg, helping the Maroons to a sweep of the Hornets with two doubles, a pair of RBI and two runs scored. Lowery is currently second in the ODAC with a .471 batting average, and is third with a .760 slugging percentage.

Lesley Buckingham, Lynchburg, Senior, Attack
Buckingham, a senior from Herndon, Va., put a cap to her regular season by capturing two of the biggest awards in Lynchburg women's lacrosse history. Buckingham helped lead the Hornets to a pair of wins over Randolph and Sweet Briar by scoring eight goals with six assists. Those totals helped her become the all-time leader at Lynchburg in pionts with 265 and goals with 192, supplanting 1991 LC grad Dana Hansen in both categories. Buckingham also has 73 assists in her career. For the week, Buckingham also collected 11 draw controls and four ground balls while causing three turnovers.
